ANGEL
TREE CHRISTMAS @ Hope
Christian Center
Hope Christian Center
partnered with Prison
Fellowship as a sponsor
church under Angel Tree in
2009. The mission of Prison
Fellowship is to seek the
transformation of prisoners
and their reconciliation to
God, family, and community
through the power and truth
of Jesus Christ. Angel Tree
is the program of Prison
Fellowship that focuses on
transformation in the lives
of the children of inmates
and on fostering
reconciliation between the
child, incarcerated parent,
and family.
2010 Event Date: December
18, 2010
Hope Christian Center
presented the Gospel to our
Angel Tree children and
caregivers by holding a
Christmas Party the
afternoon of December 18,
2010. It was a wonderful
event with an atmosphere
filled with Gods love. Angel
Tree was a blessing not only
to the families but to the
Hope Christian Center family
as well.
Every child was presented
with 2 gifts in the name of
their incarcerated parent.
Our Angel Tree guests were
received with smiles and
hugs. Senior Pastor Tyrone
Stevenson welcomed the
families personally. The
Gospel was present through
Praise and Worship, Praise
Dancers, and performances by
the children of the church.
There were also lead
servants and volunteers from
various ministries
interacting with the
children and the caregivers.
The highlights were many,
from the excitement of the
volunteers, gift purchasers,
caregivers to the smiles on
the children’s faces. It was
a wonderful experience for
all. One teenager who did
not want to attend the event
was overjoyed when he
received an IPOD in the name
of his incarcerated parent.
This young man’s spirit was
visibly uplifted when he
read the personal message
from his father that was
written on the gift tag.
